To be clear, the Wheatville Co-Op appearances during SXSW are signings / meet-and-greets only. Otherwise known as “lunch before actual shows”.

Anonymous asked: How do you set your guitar's volume relative to the PA's volume? Lately when my band has played out, we've tried to be pretty loud, but if the PA isn't loud enough, it seems silly to sound like an instrumental band for the sake of loudness. Advice?
I’ve learned around where to set my volume on my amps to where it still sounds good, I can hear myself, and (usually) sound people aren’t constantly telling me to turn down. If the PA isn’t good enough to carry your sound enough through the FOH, it doesn’t seem like it’d be necessary to mic the amps. The best thing to do is just talk to the sound person before the show starts and explain your sound and if there’s any specific things you require, be nice and talk to them about it and they’ll do their best to make you sound awesome!
Dads and Nona are both playing this killer show at SXSW, put on by our friends at Brixton Agency and Run For Cover Records! Gonna be a great couple of days in Texas! It’s free and open to the public (21+).
